This is a hard challenge!
You should be skilled to take on this event.
There are several 1,000 vertical elevation climbs over 1-2 miles.
There will be mud, there will be water crossings, there will be downed logs, obstacles, little rocks, big rocks, snakes, and wildlife.
42 miles up and down in the woods with these challenges in the dark is…. well, a challenge.
Each participate MUST TRAIN, relative to this hike. Up-and-down, long distances, and night hiking.
We will put practice hikes both day and night, but each hiker MUST perform prep hikes on their own.
Muscle strength and endurance is one thing, energy, sleep, and food consumption is another… but one thing you can’t fake is the strength of ligaments. Those have to be built up, and hiking this terrain at this length will tear up some ligaments. If there is any question about ligaments, knee straps should be packed.
